Search [Ctrl]+F:

File search dialog allows searching for files on your local disk.
You can specify search by:
  • initial directory
  • required file name pattern (using wildcards)
  • required file contents
  • required file date/age period
  • required file size limits
  • required file attributes set
By clicking the Start Search button, the search process is started. A list with the found file will be shown under the search window. When selecting a file and clicking the Go to button, the directory with the selected file will open in the active panel.

Compare directories [Shift]+[F2]:
Files that are different in both directories are selected. Identical Files are not selected.

Options [Strg]+O:
Opens the program settings dialog.

    Startup
  • Start at boot time:
    When checked, Atol is started automatically when the graphical interface (like GNOME or Windows) is started.
  • Allow single instance:
    When checked, Atol can only be started once.
  • Show splash screen:
    Whether to show the splash screen when starting Atol or not.
  • Show tip of the day:
    Whether to show the tip of the day when starting Atol or not.
  • Restore last path:
    When checked, Atol will remember the chosen directory when closed.

Pack file [Alt]+[F5]:
Compresses the selected file with a chosen archiver. Type the name of the archive to which should be save into the dialog.

At the moment, there are the following compression options:
  • archive as .zip (zip compression)
    This method can only compress multiple files into the single archive file.
